Expense Details

Fields

Expense type
Specifies the type of expense and will control where the data is imported into QuickBooks.

Vendor
Specifies the vendor for the expense. Clicking the down arrow will display a list of vendors available. Selecting "Add new" at the bottom of this list will open a screen allowing you to create a new vendor. If there are more entries than the setting in preferences for Max items for drop downs, then this will be an auto-complete text field and you can start typing and a list of matching values will be displayed.

Reference
This will be the check number if you specify and expense type of "Check" or just a reference field for "Credit card" transactions.

Billable
Check this field if you wish to bill the customer for the expense.

Customer
Specifies the customer for the expense. Clicking the down arrow will display a list of customers available. Selecting "Add new" at the bottom of this list will open a screen allowing you to create a new customer. If there are more entries than the setting in preferences for Max items for drop downs, then this will be an auto-complete text field and you can start typing and a list of matching values will be displayed.

Job
Specifies the job for the expense. Clicking the down arrow will display a list of jobs available for the customer selected. Selecting "Add new" at the bottom of this list will open a screen allowing you to create a new job for the selected customer. If there are more entries than the setting in preferences for Max items for drop downs, then this will be an auto-complete text field and you can start typing and a list of matching values will be displayed.

Account
Specifies the item for the expense.

Trans date
Enter the date of the transion.

Amount
Enter the totals amount of the expense.

Memo
Enter a detailed description of the expense.

Toolbar Buttons

Cancels changes made and returns to the previous screen.

Deletes the displayed expense - only available when editing an existing expense.

Saves changes and returns to the previous screen.
